Company

Carvern Petrochemical Co. Ltd. is a Canadian owned chemical company with manufacturing facilities located in Fort Erie, Ontario approximately 150 kilometers from Toronto and directly across the Niagara River from Buffalo, New York, USA.

Products

The company manufactures liquid combustion fuel additives that are formulated for use in diesel, gasoline and heavy fuel oil. These CV Products function as combustion catalysts at the moment of ignition when blended with the respective hydrocarbon fuel. The effect of the catalytic reaction is a more uniform and thorough combustion of the fuel.

The line of products includes the following additives:

  • CV100—for use in gasoline
  • CV200—for use in diesel fuel
  • CV300—for use in bunker fuel

Performance

CV Products contribute to the following performance improvement of internal combustion engines and boiler equipment:

  • Increased fuel economy

Depending on the size and condition of the equipment, there is an improvement in fuel economy in the range of 4% to 10%, which makes the CV Products cost effective.

  • Reduced emissions

By using CV Products in their fuel, companies have solved their smoke and emissions problems, which has had a beneficial effect on the environment and people’s health.

  • Improved engine maintenance

CV Products significantly facilitate equipment maintenance during all stages of the combustion process. As a preburner conditioner, the solvent carrier in the CV Product cleans fuel tanks, lines and pumps. In the combustion chamber, the CV Product minimizes engine damage by reducing deposits of carbon and vanadium.

  • Improved boiler maintenance

CV Products facilitate the maintenance of boilers in three stages of operation. As a preburner conditioner, the solvent carrier in the product maintains clean filters and protects the life of fuel pumps by keeping fuel tanks and lines free of sludge. CV Product also keeps injectors and nozzles clean thus preventing them from seizing and fouling. In addition, CV Products limit corrosion damage by minimizing the production of vanadium pentoxide.

Applications

CV Products are used in the mining, construction, transportation, power generation and marine industries. Within these industries, the products are used in a broad range of equipment including large ore haulers, bulldozers, trucks, buses, stationary engines, tugboats, fishing boats, ships, process steam boilers, furnaces, automobiles and recreation equipment.

Distribution

CV Products are sold through distributors and dealers in Canada, United States, Latin America, Caribbean, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Eastern Europe and the United Kingdom. Carvern is interested in expanding its export sales particularly to countries that have serious pollution problems caused by vehicular and industrial exhaust emissions. The company would welcome inquiries from prospective distributors and government environmental agencies in these countries.
