The Engine Technology Forum (ETF) is a non-profit 501(c)(6) organization dedicated to promoting a greater awareness and understanding of the benefits of internal combustion engines. ETF is the only organization dedicated solely to promoting and defending a viable future for internal combustion engines in all applications.
Founded in 2023 by members of the Diesel Technology Forum, the Engine Technology Forum is widely recognized, and has credibility with environmental organizations, government regulators, media, and political leaders. ETF is organized to bring together key stakeholders of the internal combustion engine, including advanced diesel technology systems – engines and components, vehicles and equipment, as well as fuels and emissions control technology.
Our Mission
- To champion energy conservation, environmental stewardship, and a broad approach that welcomes all solutions to reducing carbon as well as other emissions.
- To demonstrate how, where, and why internal combustion engines and the fuels that they use contribute positively toward achieving sustainability, global energy, climate, economic, and environmental goals.
- To encourage scientific inquiry, discussion, and debate about how current and future internal combustion engines, technologies, vehicles and equipment, and the fuels that they use can help achieve global energy, climate, economic, and environmental goals.
- To enable worldwide economic growth through the continued innovations and improvement of internal combustion engines, technologies, vehicles, and equipment and conventional and renewable fuels.
- To position internal combustion engines, technologies and equipment utilizing renewable fuels as proven, available, affordable, and sustainable solutions for reducing greenhouse gases as well as other emissions across key sectors of the global economy.
Our Vision
- To be the leading voice championing the value, progress, and future importance of internal combustion engines, technologies, vehicles, equipment, as well as the fuels that they use.
- To positively influence public and policymaker opinions regarding internal combustion engines, technologies, vehicles, and the equipment that they power utilizing sustainable and other fuels and their role in achieving energy, environment, and economic goals.
- To contribute to the greater awareness of internal combustion engines, vehicles, equipment, and technology using renewable and other fuels, as valued options for decarbonization of key sectors of the economy.
- To work with all stakeholders seeking solutions to reduce greenhouse gas and other emissions from freight transport, agriculture, construction, mining, as well as other industrial and commercial applications.
- Through public education and outreach, advance a broader understanding of the innovations in internal combustion engines, vehicles, equipment, technology and fuels, and the utility of these compared to other emerging technology options.
Membership
Does your company have a vested stake in the future for internal combustion engines and fuels? Do you believe there needs to be a positive voice for engines, emissions controls, and fuels in today’s decarbonization debate? Membership in the Forum is open to qualified engine, vehicle or component manufacturers, fuel and fuel-related refiners, or manufacturers of emissions control devices. Membership is on a corporate basis and subject to Board approval.
