Daewoo raises stake in Polish diesel engine manufacturer
South Korea's Daewoo Group has increased its equity in Andoria, a Polish manufacturer of diesel engines, from 13% to 75%. Daewoo said it plans to expand Andoria's operations to produce 50,000, 2400cc diesels and 200,000 smaller diesels by 1998. Andoria built 30,000 diesels in 1996. The smaller engine will be used in 1-ton trucks currently being developed Daewoo Motor Polska, a subsidiary vehicle operation in Poland.
