Diesel Issues Forum organized by API
11 February 1999
The American Petroleum Institute (API), the Engine Manufacturers Association and the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association will jointly host an inter-industry forum on the future of diesel fuel and related engine and transportation issues on April 14-15 at the Doubletree Hotel, Pentagon City, Virginia.
The 1999 Diesel Issues Forum, called "A Call To Action", will address diesel fuel issues in relation to future diesel fuel and engine regulations planned by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). According to the API, the EPA is expected to issue a notice of proposed rulemaking for additional controls for diesel fuel by the end of 1999.
The forum will include presentations by industry, engine manufacturers, government, health and environment community representatives and diesel fuel users. They will address current and future diesel issues: regulatory, environmental, related health science, economics and refining and engine and after-treatment technology. A view of the potential impacts of regulations will be offered by fuel suppliers, engine manufacturers and consumers.
Registration information is available from Karen Halligan at 202-682-8187 or API’s Event Resource Center at 800-936-7804.
