New Vehicle Exhaust Simulator from APS
5 October 2000
Analytical Process Systems (APS) of Auburn Hills, MI, has announced a new Vehicle Exhaust Simulator (VES). The VES provides a method to repeatably exercise an exhaust analysis system in the same manner and throughout the same dynamic range as in actual vehicle testing, thus, improving test cell correlation while eliminating the need for a correlation vehicle.
The VES provides a slew rate of 100 scfm/100mS with data acquisition rates higher than the flow rate. The system can provide verification of transport times, analyzer response, direct vehicle exhaust response, and CVS response - the time alignment effects on mass can be determined for each parameter.
The VES simulator has been developed for emission analysis systems for ULEV and SULEV emission regulations.
