Horiba Instrument consolidates Engine Measurement Division in Ann Arbor, MI
8 June 2001
Horiba Instruments Inc. (HII) announced that it has completed the final phase of its long-term plan to consolidate the Engine Measurement Division in Ann Arbor, Michigan. All manufacturing, purchasing, and material control activities have been transferred from the company’s Irvine, California, headquarters to its 55,000 square foot Ann Arbor facility.
The Irvine groups join Horiba’s existing software, engineering, service, and sales activities in Ann Arbor. Horiba’s process and laboratory product groups will continue to operate from the company’s Irvine facility.
The new manufacturing facility strengthens Horiba’s 25+ years of manufacturing presence in the US. Built in 1995, the Ann Arbor facility was expanded in 1999 in anticipation of the consolidation. An emissions test cell adjacent to the manufacturing floor supports off-site integration and testing of large system orders.
Horiba is one of the world’s biggest suppliers of emissions testing equipment for automotive, off-road, heavy-duty truck and bus, marine, small-utility, locomotive, and aeronautic applications.
