AVL to supply air toxics sampling system for US EPA
25 February 2004
US EPA’s National Vehicle and Fuel Emission Laboratory (NVFEL) of Ann Arbor, MI, has awarded AVL’s North American Test Systems and Instrumentation Group a contract to supply and install an advanced emission’s toxic sampling system.
This contract is an extension of the previous project, awarded to AVL, for an ultrasonic flow metering and dilution system. These systems will initially go into NVFEL’s test site HD02.
The AVL toxic sampling system is required to support EPA’s continuing effort to study and possibly regulate emissions from diesel fueled engines, beyond the current regulated gaseous and particulate constituents and levels. The toxic sampling system will permit EPA and California ARB to evaluate and consider PAH, nitro-PAH, PCDD, PCDF, and PCB compounds.
