California ARB extends verification of CleanAIR Systems particulate filter
17 February 2005
The California ARB has extended the verification of CleanAIR Systems’ PERMIT™ diesel particulate filter for stationary engines through model year 2005. The PERMIT™ filter achieves an 85% reduction in particulate matter emissions, qualifying for a “Level 3” verification.
The PERMIT™ filter was previously verified for model year 1996-2003 engines.
The PERMIT™ system is a passive diesel particulate filter, catalyzed with a noble metal catalyst. The filter requires a temperature of above 300°C for at least 30% of operating time (or 2 hours, whichever is longer), to regenerate. The filter can be used on emergency generators operated using ultra low sulfur diesel fuel (≤15 ppm S).
