NYSERDA announces clean diesel solicitation

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) announced a program to support the development, testing, demonstration and documentation of performance of emission measurement technologies and emission control technologies/strategies to improve the environmental performance of diesel-powered equipment in New York State.
The program focuses on opportunities to save energy e.g., through use of anti-idling technologies and reduction of energy losses associated with emission controls. In addition, the program will support research studies to improve the science/policy basis of New York State air quality management planning associated with diesel-powered equipment operated in New York State. The program will be also supported by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC).
NYSERDA announced the PON 1072 solicitation on October 2, 2006. Proposals are due by November 20, 2006. Total available NYSERDA funding is $1,250,000.
