US EPA announces clean diesel funding opportunities for 2010
14 October 2009
The US EPA’s National Clean Diesel Campaign (NCDC) has opened three grant competitions to solicit applications for approximately $60 million in funding for clean diesel activities. The competitions are for Emerging Clean Diesel Technologies, SmartWay Clean Diesel Finance programs and a National Clean Diesel grant program. Details regarding eligibility, program guidelines and submission instructions for each of the three Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are posted on the NCDC website.
The three RFPs were issued under the following EPA clean diesel programs:
- National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program: This program contains the majority of the funding dedicated to the deployment of EPA-verified and certified technologies. This RFP will be administered by EPA regional offices.
- National Clean Diesel Emerging Technologies Program: This program fosters the deployment of innovative technologies through a national grant competition. There will be a Q&A conference call for this RFP on October 15th, 2009, at 2pm EDT (1-866-299-3188, passcode 2023439302#).
- SmartWay Clean Diesel Finance Program: A program that allows the EPA to issue competitive grants to establish national, low-cost, revolving loans or other financing programs that will provide funding to fleets to reduce diesel emissions. There will be a Q&A webinar for this RFP on October 20, 2009 at 2pm EDT.
The RFPs will be open for approximately 60 days, closing December 8, 2009. EPA plans to award the grants resulting from these competitions in early 2010.
