Proventia receives London LEZ approval
25 March 2011
Proventia Emission Control announced it has been approved as a manufacturer and supplier of emission control products for compliance with provisions of the London Low Emission Zone (LEZ).
The London LEZ emission requirements will become more stringent from January 2012. Any heavy commercial vehicle first registered before October 1st, 2006 will either need to be upgraded with a London LEZ approved device that reduces PM emissions below the Euro IV limit, be replaced, no longer used in London, or pay a daily charge for use within the LEZ.
Proventia’s PROAIR® Muffler Replacements and Flex systems are approved retrofit devices that fulfill the emission requirements that come into force in January 2012 in the greater London area. PROAIR® devices are passive diesel particulate filter systems with a low NO2 filter element that increase the engine’s NO2 emissions by less than 30%.
Proventia also announced a distributor agreement with UK-based Excalibre Technologies (Emissions) Ltd., who will be the distributor of PROAIR® filters for the London Low Emission Zone. Excalibre will also provide installation and after sales support for Proventia filters.
