Sensors launches SEMTECH LASAR spectrometer
23 June 2011
Sensors announced the launch of a new SEMTECH LASAR line of emission analyzers. The SEMTECH LASAR is an optical feedback, cavity enhanced, laser absorption spectrometer, capable of measuring both trace levels and high concentrations of a wide range of gases, including NH3, NO, N2O, NO2, H2S, SO2, SO3, H2, O2, as well as several aldehyde, alcohol and hydrocarbon species with one or two carbon atoms.
This multigas analyzer has been designed with no moving parts, hygroscopic optics or liquid N2 cooling, that may be required with other types of instruments, such as FTIR. Therefore, the analyzer is suitable for both test cell and on-board vehicle applications. Sensors emphasized a number of features of the instrument:
- A low pressure sampling system enables fast response (> 1 Hz) analysis of hot gas mixtures with high moisture content without the need for sample conditioning.
- Cross interference is controlled by coupling 1 picometer optical resolution with low pressure operation.
- Use of non-fibered lasers enhances spectral range selection, dynamic range of calibration and enables the simultaneous measurement of both trace and high concentrations of analytes.
The SEMTECH LASAR can be operated through a touch-screen control panel or host software. Live data can also be monitored remotely from the internet, for immediate access to results, diagnostics and raw signal information.
