Cleaire acquired by NewWorld Capital
16 August 2011
NewWorld Capital Group, a New York-based private equity firm, has acquired Cleaire Advanced Emission Controls, a manufacturer of PM and NOx emission control products for on- and off-road heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
Several of Cleaire’s particulate filter systems have been verified by the California Air Resources Board (ARB) as Level 3 devices, that reduce diesel PM emissions by 85% or more.
Headquartered in San Leandro, California with a manufacturing facility in San Diego, Cleaire supplies the retrofit diesel particulate filter (DPF) market in the United States and exports its products to selected foreign countries. “In light of rapidly growing demand for mobile-source diesel particulate filters”, said NewWorld Capital, the investment “will enable Cleaire to expand its sales and product support capability in domestic and international markets”.
Cleaire was owned by Cummins West, a distributor of Cummins products in Central and Northern California.
