Cummins to acquire SCR dosing business from Hilite
2 May 2012
Cummins has signed an agreement to acquire the assets associated with the emissions control products—including the SCR urea dosing systems—of Hilite International. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Hilite was one of the first developers and suppliers of SCR urea dosing systems for mobile diesel engines. Among other applications, Hilite urea systems were used on Euro IV/V trucks with SCR technology launched by Daimler in 2005.
Hilite’s SCR doser technology will become part of Cummins Emission Solutions (CES). This will allow Cummins to serve all major market applications with a urea doser, said the company. The SCR dosing system—a critical component of SCR aftertreatment—represents a new growth opportunity for Cummins.
The acquisition, expected to close in the third quarter of 2012, is subject to German regulatory approval. Hilite, based in Marktheidenfeld, Germany, is a portfolio company of 3i.
