Tenneco supplying SCR systems to Kubota
25 March 2015
Tenneco announced that it is supplying selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems to Kubota, a global manufacturer of engines and equipment for agricultural and industrial applications.
Tenneco said it is in serial production with a complete SCR system that meets both US EPA Tier 4 final and EU Stage IV emission regulations for Kubota’s 3.8 L diesel engine and all-new 6.1 L engine for agricultural equipment, slated for production later this year. This is the first SCR system to be produced at Tenneco’s manufacturing facility in Osaka, Japan.
Tenneco’s SCR system includes dosing technology that features an airless injector, a pump that enables “unique return flow cooling”, technology for rapid thawing, and control and diagnostics that integrate with the engine management.
Additionally, Tenneco is providing full system integration capabilities to Kubota, supporting enhanced fuel economy and aftertreatment performance through weight reduction, optimized thermal management and system design.
In 2007, Tenneco acquired the mobile emissions business of Combustion Components Associates (CCA) to enhance system integration capabilities for SCR technology.
