THIESEL 2020—Call for Papers
21 November 2019
The biennial THIESEL Conference on Thermo- and Fluid Dynamic Processes in Direct Injection Engines has issued a Call for Papers. THIESEL 2020 will be held on 8-11 September 2020 at the Universitat Politècnica de València in Valencia, Spain.
Objectives. In spite of the very tough environmental demands, combustion engines will probably remain the main propulsion system in transport for the next 20 to 50 years, at least for as long as alternative solutions cannot provide similar levels of flexibility. But they need to adapt to the new times, and so research in combustion engines is now mostly focused on the new challenges such as those posed by hybridization and downsizing. THIESEL 2020 will provide a forum for industry, research institutions and academia to exchange high-tech knowledge and experience on R&D topics related to recent progress in adapting engine concepts to the new societal needs.
Call for Papers. THIESEL 2020 calls for good quality papers from both Industry and Academia, describing the most recent developments and latest innovations related to thermo- and fluid dynamic processes in direct injection engines.
Topics of the conference are:
- Powertrain hybridisation
- DI fuel injection and sprays
- Combustion & pollutant formation
- Engine modelling
- Thermal management
- Aftertreatment systems
- Control strategies
- Air management and turbocharging
- Noise control
Abstracts of about 300 words including the objectives of the paper, the methodology used, some preliminary results if available and the main conclusions should be submitted through the THIESEL website authors’ area.
A selection of the best papers presented at the conference will be published in a special issue of the International Journal of Engine Research. After a preliminary selection, abstracts not accepted as full papers may be presented for the poster session. The authors of accepted posters may present a three-page abstract for publication in the Conference Proceedings.
