Cummins offers incentive for emissions recall on Ram diesel trucks
19 February 2026
Cummins announced a new $500 incentive for owners of eligible RAM 2500 and 3500 model-year 2013–2018 trucks who complete Emissions Recall 67A. The first 750 participants who complete Recall 67A by March 31 will receive double the incentive for a total of $1000.
Recall 67A is a software update to reduce tailpipe NOx emissions by increasing diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) dosing to the SCR catalyst under certain conditions. Cummins said it is offering the reward program to customers to encourage timely completion of the recall “to meet federal requirements and protect long-term vehicle performance.”
The recall does not impact the engine torque, power, or responsiveness, according to Cummins. It does not impact the fuel economy in MY 2013-2015 vehicles. In MY 2016-2018 vehicles, the recall can reduce fuel consumption by up to 0.5 mpg in city and light-load driving.
The recall can increase DEF consumption by up to 1.5% of fuel consumed for light loads/empty bed and up to 2.5% of fuel consumed in heavily loaded conditions.
Emissions Recall 67A, announced in November 2023, affected some 560,000 RAM 2500 and 3500 MY 2013–2018 pickup trucks equipped with a 6.7 L Cummins Turbo Diesel engine. The number of vehicles that have completed the software update has not been made public.
