John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) unveiled the new JD5 and JD8 industrial diesel engines at the ConExpo tradeshow in Las Vegas—the company’s latest additions to the Next Generation Engine (NGE) lineup.
The 5.0-liter JD5 engine will offer 93-200 kW (125-268 hp) and the 7.5-liter JD8 will offer 187-290 kW (250-389 hp). Both models are designed to meet US EPA Tier 4 or EU Stage V emission requirements.
The anticipated launch for the lead application of the JD8 is intended for 2029, followed by the JD5.
At ConExpo, JDPS was also showcasing its latest KREISEL Electric batteries. On display were the KBE.59.750M, which is targeted for production later this year, as well as the KBE.24.450S, KBE.39.750S, and KBE.39.750C. These batteries utilize Dynamic Performance Management, which combines patented cell immersion cooling technology with advanced software systems.
