Emission Standards

Chile: Nonroad Diesel Engines

Chilean emission standards for nonroad mobile machinery were established in 2021.10 to take effect 24 months later, in 2023.10 [5735]. The decree establishes emission limits equivalent to EU Stage V and EPA Tier 4 nonroad standards. The limits apply to compression ignition engines installed in nonroad mobile machinery, with a net installed power from 19 kW to 560 kW and imported after 2023.10 or 2024.10 in the case of tractors. These engines must meet the limits in either Table 1 or Table 2. The limits in Table 1 reflect those of EPA Tier 4 nonroad limits and those in Table 2 the EU Stage V limits.

Engines intended for use in automobiles, locomotives or other equipment that moves on rails, ships, aircraft, and recreational vehicles are excluded.
