Diesel Fuel Specifications

Chile’s diesel fuel requirements are summarized in Table 1. The Grade B-2 limits are summarized in Table 2 [6666]. Background information on the diesel fuel specifications is found elsewhere.

^a Between April 15 and September 15, the maximum for regions XI, XII and Chilean Antarctica is -9°C. ^b In case of dispute, the Ramsbottom method shall be the referee method. ^c Calculated cetane index (ASTM D4737) or Derived Cetane Number (D7170 or D7668) may be used. In case of dispute, cetane number (ASTM D613) is the referee method. For auditing purposes, a minimum cetane index of 48 with D4737 is accepted but if the cetane index < 48, cetane number must be measured. ^d The minimum density in Regions XI, XII and Chilean Antarctica may be 815 kg/m³ ^e 10 ppm max. sulfur after March 30,2025. ^f Must not contain water or suspended matter, and must be free of sediment.
